Be a media-savvy lawyer

Wednesday 27th April 2016, 12.30-2.30pm,

Michelmores, Broad Quay House, Bristol

Tony Coll, Tony Coll Media Training

Media coverage is a free resource which can bring in new clients and enhance your own and your company’s reputations. Yet surprisingly few lawyers know how to access it.

This insightful talk will show you how journalists think, and why this information could be useful. It will reveal what makes a news story and how you and your firm can become ‘go to’ spokespeople for your branch of the law, as well as giving tips for talking effectively to the media on behalf of clients.

Tony Coll is one of the UK’s most experienced management trainers and facilitators. Following his Oxford law degree (BA Jurisprudence, Lincoln College) he pursued a journalistic career and was for many years a BBC reporter and producer. During this time he was asked to run courses in Handling the Media for politicians, and this kindled an interest in training and facilitation generally. His clients have included senior figures in business, government, the law, the private and charitable sectors and campaign groups. He also offers Media & Communication for Lawyers, Presentation Skills, Public Speaking, Communicating in a Crisis, Presenting Difficult Messages, Influencing Skills, Personal Impact and Effectiveness, Selling Skills, Communicating Effectively and With Impact, Negotiation Skills, Implementing Change, Managing Team Conflict, Delivering Difficult Messages to External Partners and Constructive Conversations. If you would like to discuss this talk with Tony or discuss how he can help your organisation, his contact details are here.
